Today, NETGEAR has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for some of its ProSafe wireless access point models, namely version 3.5.6.0, which promises to enhance Captive Portal redirection time in Business Central mode.

In addition to that, besides the improvement mentioned above, the WNDAP660 unit alone receives fixes for its channel width configuration issue for Korea country in Business Central mode.

To be clear about the compatible devices, know that NETGEAR’s update is to be applied on its WNDAP660, WNAP210v2, WNAP320, WNDAP350, and WNDAP360 Access Points. Do not try installing it on other models as this can lead to serious malfunctions.

Therefore, if you want to make use of the changes above, save and unzip the proper archive for your device model, go into its web management GUI, and go to Maintenance > Upgrade > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, click “Browse,” navigate and select the upgrade file, hit “Apply,” and wait patiently as the access point does its job. When the installation has finished, the device will automatically reboot.

However, bear in mind that closing the web browser during the upgrade, clicking a link, refreshing the page, or interrupting the installation in any way can render the access point completely inoperable.

That said, download NETGEAR ProSafe AP Firmware 3.5.6.0 for your specific product, carefully apply it, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
