The new update improves camera stability and LED behavior

GoPro has made available the 01.80 firmware version compatible with its Fusion action cameras, which corrects ISO setting for TLP 2 seconds (and above), improves TLV metadata, enhances stability during updates, and changes LED behavior.

When it comes to installing this release, save and unzip the downloadable archive onto an accessible location on your computer, and transfer the newly-created “UPDATE” folder onto a formatted memory card; do not copy the zip archive or rename the folder to avoid any problems.

Now, safely remove the card from your computer, insert it into the camera while it’s powered off, turn on GoPro’s Fusion unit, and the device will automatically cycle through some beeps and reboot once.

If all has been done correctly, the device should show an “UPDATING” message on its display, and, upon completion, you will be able to read an “UPDATE COMPLETE” message on your camera’s display.

Bear in mind that interrupting the installation in any way can lead to serious device malfunctions, therefore make sure not to interfere. Still, if you get a “Camera Update Failed” error, remove and re-insert the unit’s battery, restart the whole process, and hopefully you won’t receive that message again.

With this in mind, download GoPro Fusion Camera Firmware 1.80, follow all above-described steps to apply it on your device correctly and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
