The update adds support for the iOS version of SnapBridge

Today, Nikon has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its COOLPIX B500 compact camera, namely version 1.1, which promises to add support for the iOS version of SnapBridge, as well as update some help text.

So, if you consider these changes helpful, then prepare your imaging device for the upgrade. To do so, first go to Menu > Set up > Firmware Version, and make sure the unit’s build isn’t either newer or matching the present release.

If all is ok, save the appropriate package for your computer’s OS (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms), run it to extract the firmware file to a new folder, and transfer the “firmware” folder to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.

Now, ensure the COOLPIX unit is completely turned off and has a fully charged battery, insert the SD card and power on the device, go to Menu > Set up > Firmware Version once more and follow all on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.

Bear in mind that, while the installation is in progress, you must not remove the battery/SD card, use the camera’s buttons, or interrupt the upgrade in any way. Once completed,  turn off the camera, remove the SD card, and confirm the newly-applied firmware version.

That said, download Nikon COOLPIX B500 Camera Firmware 1.1, carefully upgrade your imaging device and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
