The release improves compatibility with iOS SnapBridge app

Nikon has rolled out two new firmware packages developed for its D5600 and D3400 digital cameras, namely versions 1.01 and 1.11, respectively, which manage to remove a bug that leads to unreliable connections between the camera and the iOS 10.2 version of SnapBridge app.

With this in mind, if the bug mentioned above has bothered you until now and want to get rid of it, save and run the appropriate package for your computer’s operating system (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms), and transfer the “V3_0111.bin” file onto a formatted memory card.

Afterward, insert the card into the appropriate slot, make sure the camera has a fully charged battery, turn on the imaging unit, go to Setup Menu > Firmware Version > Update, select “OK,” and agree with all messages that will be displayed.

Once completed, check the currently installed firmware to make sure the 1.01 or 1.11 version has been applied correctly, and remove and format the memory card before using it again.

However, during the installation, it is highly recommended not to disconnect the battery/SD card, open the battery cover, or make use of any buttons. Doing so can interrupt the upgrade, and might lead to various malfunctions.

That said, download Nikon D5600 Camera Firmware 1.01 or download Nikon D3400 Camera Firmware 1.11, carefully apply it to your unit, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
