The new firmware release improves Cortana speech recognition

Microsoft has made available the download links for the December 2017 cumulative firmware and driver update packages targeted at its Surface Book devices, which improve overall system stability, as well as performance.

Specifically speaking, this update installs Realtek’s 6.0.1.8242 HD Audio (SST) package that enhances Cortana speech recognition, as well as the 09.21.00.2853 Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) Audio Bus and OED drivers, thus improving video performance in some applications.
