The new release fixes the difficult subject focusing

Today, Nikon has rolled out its 1.2 firmware version developed for COOLPIX S6900 compact camera, which fixes the bug that caused difficult subject focusing if it was located in the center of the frame, and scene auto selector is set to Close-up mode.

In addition to that, this release also resolves a rare event that resulted in picture banding, as well as the phenomenon where file numbering would reset itself to 0001 if all pictures were deleted, regardless of any settings.

Therefore, if you intend to make use of these improvements, first of all, turn on your camera, go to Menu > Setup > Firmware Version, and make sure that the currently installed build isn’t either newer or matching this release.

If all is OK, save the appropriate package for your system’s OS (available for Windows and Mac OS X platforms), run it in order to create the “S6900Update/firmware” folders, and save the firmware directory (including the .bin file) onto a formatted memory card.

Afterwards, insert the SD card into your imaging unit, go to Firmware Version once more, and simply follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete upgrade. However, make sure not to interrupt the process in any way, as this can seriously damage your camera.

With this in mind, download Nikon COOLPIX S6900 Camera Firmware 1.2, apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
