Canon has made available several new firmware packages compatible with some of its EOS digital cameras, namely versions 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.2, 1.1.2, 1.1.5, and 1.1.7 targeted at the EOS 100D, EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS 1300D, EOS 70D, EOS 700D, and EOS 6D, respectively.

When it comes to changes, the 1.0.2 firmware suitable for Canon’s EOS 5D Mark IV camera improves communication reliability when registering/updating new Digital Lens Optimizer with EOS Utility.

As for the rest of the versions, the appropriate devices receive fixes for a bug that didn’t apply correction when using them with EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction was enabled.

Therefore, if you want to make sure none of the issues mentioned above will be encountered by your device, save and unzip the appropriate package for your camera model, and transfer the firmware file onto a formatted memory card.

Afterwards, go to the device’s “Firmware Version” section, agree with the firmware upgrade, and follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation. Also, don’t interrupt this process in any way, as this can lead to serious malfunctions.

That said, from the links below, follow the one that best suits your imaging unit, take into account the steps highlighted above, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
