AsusWrt-Merlin has made available a new beta firmware package targeted at some of ASUS’ wireless routers, namely build 378.56 beta 2, which fixes traditional QoS that didn’t work when IPv6 was enabled, and more.

This new update also resolves the VPN Status broken page on French locale, as well as the QoS page layout in Firefox, reorganizes settings on the System page, increases Guest MAC filter entries to 64, and allows the Smart Connect page to properly save interface policies.

In addition to that, the present beta version removes the bug that caused models with 128 KB support to report only 64 KB in the NVRAM userspace tool, and forces cURL to use the firmware’s CA list.

Moreover, if Merlin’s release is applied, your router will silence any RA routine event if Hide DHCP queries are enabled, its DHCP query logging will no longer override configured syslog levels, and the networkmap printer detection is to be reverted because it didn’t resolve printer wakeups.

When it comes to compatible devices, this release is suitable for ASUS’ RT-AC87 (U and R), RT-AC68 (P, R, U, and W), RT-AC66 (R, U, and W), RT-AC56 (S, R, and U), and RT-AC3200 wireless routers.

In terms of installation, just save and unzip the appropriate archive for your model, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, click on the “Choose File” button near the “New Firmware File” section, select the newly extracted .trx file, hit “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job. Bear in mind that interrupting this process can result in serious device malfunctions.

That being said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 378.56 Beta 2 for your specific device, apply it, and constantly check our website to stay informed when newer versions are available for your device.
