AsusWrt-Merlin has made available a new stable firmware package compatible with some of ASUS’s wireless routers, namely build 378.55.0, which resolves an issue where DHCP lease page could get confused by IPv6 clients.

When it comes to supported routers, this release is targeted at ASUS’s RT-AC3200, RT-AC56, RT-AC66, RT-AC68, RT-AC87, and RT-N66 wireless unit models. Do not try to apply it on other devices as this might render it unusable or lead to various malfunctions.

As for installation, first of all make sure the currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, and only afterwards save and unzip the appropriate archive for your specific device model.

Now, connect the router to your computer using an Ethernet cable (wireless connections might disconnect randomly), log into its administration page, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

From there, select “Choose File” button near the “New Firmware File” section, navigate to the newly-extracted .trx file and choose it, click “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job.

However, bear in mind that interrupting this process can result in serious device malfunctions. Thus, make sure not to turn off/reboot either the router or the computer, close the web browser, or remove the power/Ethernet cable.

With this in mind, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 378.55.0 for your specific device, apply it, and check our website as often as possible to stay informed when newer versions are available for your product.
