ASUS has rolled out yet another firmware update targeted at its RT-N12HP rev.B1 wireless routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.378.7449, which fixes mac clone problems, network tool-related issues, as well as several other errors.

Specifically speaking, this update enhances the login authentication strength, forces owners to change the router’s default “admin” password, and implements a new mechanism that lowers the risk of a potential GUI login brute-force attack.

In addition to that, build 378.7449 adds a stateful server in IPv6, a new DDNS provider, as well as a client list view button on network map, fixes infosvr security bugs, and removes any CSRF- and XSS-related vulnerabilities.

Moreover, ASUS has also managed to change the QIS welcome page, fix Ethernet connection failure event in IPv6 (when cloning WAN hwaddr), and implement several changes that improve the overall performance and stability (check the full Release Notes via the button below).

When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure that your router’s current firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, save and unzip the downloadable package, and establish a wired connection between the RT-N12 unit and your computer.

Afterwards, go to the web user interface, navigate to Firmware Update section, and use the newly extracted .trx file to upgrade your wireless unit.

Therefore, download ASUS RT-N12HP rev.B1 Firmware 378.7449, apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
