ASUS has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its DSL-AC87VG router, namely version 1.00.13.502, which manages to improve the DHCP lease time and fixes the Windows Edge UI compatibility issue where the UPnP option can’t be displayed correctly.

In addition to that, the release resolves possible invalid DSL Uptime problems, MAC clone field bugs, and UI compatibility issues with Chrome v56.x, and removes the redundant DNS mask process when WAN is down, “HTTP” selection from Host Name, and unnecessary messages in System log.

Moreover, ASUS’ update also adds HEC (Header Error Check) and ES (Error Seconds) options to DSL Log, allows the use of special characters for VPN username and password fields, and implements support for Germany ISP Neckarcom’s VoIP Profile.

If you want to benefit from these changes, save and unzip the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between your router unit and the computer, and navigate to the router’s administration page (username and password should be requested).

Afterward, go to the firmware upgrade section, select the newly unzipped file, hit “Upload,” and allow the device to perform the installation.

During this process, avoid removing Ethernet/power cables from the devices, closing the web browser, powering down the router/computer, or interrupting the installation in any way, as it will cause device malfunctions.

That said, download ASUS DSL-AC87VG Router Firmware 1.00.13.502, carefully apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
