ASUS has roller out a new firmware package compatible with its RT-AC68 routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.378.8258, targeted at RT-AC68R, -AC68U, -AC68P, -AC68W models, which updates OpenSSL library to 1.0.2d, fixes CSRF and XSS vulnerabilities, and much more.

Specifically speaking, this update resolves the routers’ abnormal MAC clone behavior and various GUI and Android share link related issues, improves IE8 compatibility, and fixes the dropdown UI offset issue in Parental control.

In addition to that, ASUS’ team has managed to fix web redirection when WAN IP conflicted, improve cloud sync between router and ASUS webstorage, modify the warning page style, and adjust adaptive QoS UI to make it easier to set gaming, media streaming, and surfing priorities.

Moreover, these compatible devices will also benefit from several AiCloud new features, a new 3G/4G USB modem APN auto detection functions, as well as numerous other changes that are highlighted in the Release Notes  below.

When it comes to installation, simply save the appropriate package for your router model, log into its administration page, and click on the currently installed firmware.

Afterwards, establish a wired connection between your router and the computer, click on the “Browse” button, navigate and select the newly extracted file, and wait for your device to do its job.

With this, download ASUS RT-AC68 Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.8258, apply it, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
