ASUS has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its RT-AC1200G+ router model, namely version 3.0.0.4.380.3310, which resolves the reboot issue, fixes several GUI bugs, and improves GUI compatibility and fine tune.

In addition to that, this release manages to improve PPTP server, auto channel selection, network map scenario, and USB modem behavior. Then, it implements media bridge mode and IPTV Movistar Triple VLAN support, as well as fixes Telnet/SSH/HTTP/HTTPS WAN security issues.

Moreover, ASUS’ update also resolves the DNS detect response issue, IPv6-related problems, and traffic limiter bugs, as well as removes the Wi-Fi driver common vulnerability and exposure (CVE-2016-0802).

When it comes to installation, first of all, check your router’s current firmware so that it isn’t newer or matching the present version, and if everything is OK, save and unzip the downloadable archive.

Now, establish a wired connection between the RT-AC1200G+ unit and your computer, log into its administration page, and use the newly extracted .trx file to upgrade the router to the latest firmware version.

Even though this seems easy, bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade process by removing the Ethernet/power cable from either device, closing the web browser or in any other way will lead to an update failure that might cause various malfunctions.

That being said, download ASUS RT-AC1200G+ Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.3310, take into account all the aspects mentioned above, apply the package, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
