ASUS has announced the availability of new firmware packages developed for several of its RT-AC router models, namely version 3.0.0.4.380.7266, which fixes various issues with the network tools, Wake on LAN, PPPoE, as well as client names in the network map.

In addition to that, the current release also adds automatic standby mode feature for CE Ecodesign directive, and resolves the problems with Android phone tethering mode detection in quick internet setup process.

When it comes to compatible devices, ASUS has provided several downloadable files targeted at its RT-AC56 (R, U, and S), RT-AC66 (U, W, and R), RT-AC68 (W, U, R, and P), RT-AC87U, RT-AC88U routers, as well as for the RT-AC1900P, RT-AC1900, RT-AC3100, and RT-AC3200 models.

As for installation, save and unzip the appropriate archive for your device, establish a wired connection between the wireless unit and your computer, log into its administration page, and use the newly extracted .trx file to upgrade the router to the latest firmware version.

Even though this seems easy, bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade process by removing the Ethernet/power cable from either device, closing the web browser, or in any other way will lead to an update failure that might cause various malfunctions.

That said, download ASUS RT Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.7266, take into account all the aspects as mentioned earlier, apply the package, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
