The release fixes possible IE compatibility issues

Just now, ASUS has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its DSL-N17U wireless devices, namely version 1.1.0.2, which fixes various Network Place (Samba) / FTP Share issues, resolves some Printer Server problems, and more.

This new update enables G.vector and G.INP by default in DSL Setting menu, installs DSL driver version 5.5.1.131, fixes several WiFi, PPTP VPN Client, and Media Server upgrade related issues, as well as resolves possible IE compatibility problems.

Moreover, besides the aforementioned changes, ASUS’ new firmware also includes a few other fixes and improvements that are highlighted in the Release Notes below; make sure to check them out.

In terms of installation, first of all, ensure that your router’s current firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, and only afterwards save and unzip the downloadable archive.

If all is OK, establish a wired connection via an Ethernet cable, log into your DSL-N17U’s administration page, and go to the Firmware Upgrade section. From there, navigate and select the newly extracted .trx file, and use it to initiate the installation process.

Even though this seems easy, bear in mind that removing the Ethernet/power cable from either device, powering them off, closing the web browser, or interrupting the upgrade in any way leads to malfunctions or even renders the router unusable.

With this in mind, download ASUS DSL-N17U Router Firmware 1.1.0.2, carefully apply it on your wireless unit, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
