Today, ASUS has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its DSL-AC68R wireless router, namely version 3.0.0.4.378.6986, which allows OpenVPN Client to make use of up to 5 profiles and fixes several bugs.

Specifically speaking, the present release adds SSH Daemon support, applies new DSL firmware (1.0.2.9) and driver (5.5.1.131), includes compatibility with CDMA2000 dongles, and fixes issues regarding WiFi scheduler, Adaptive QoS UI, miniupnpd, and IPv6.

In addition to that, build 378.6986 resolves some potential bugs that caused DSL Uptime to display improper values, didn’t allow DLNA to scan the whole USB disk, or prevented sync with lower upstream data rates.

Moreover, ASUS’ firmware also updates AiProtection signature (1.054), optimizes its Feedback feature, resolves Time Scheduling, Bandwidth Monitor, and a typo in DSL settings, and implements separate paths in DSL log (downstream / upstream).

When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure the current firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release. If all is OK, save and unzip the downloadable package, and connect an Ethernet cable between your router and the computer.

Now, go to the dashboard’s Firmware Upgrade section, select the newly extracted .trx file, and use it to update your router to the latest software.

That being said, download ASUS DSL-AC68R Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.6986, apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
