AMD has rolled out a new version of its Crimson Graphics driver, namely 16.4.2 hotfix, which updates Crossfire Profiles for Elite Dangerous and Need for Speed games, and also fixes flickering or corruptions spotted while playing The Division and or DOTA2 titles.

In addition to that, AMD’s update adds full support for Thunderbolt 3 eGFX enclosures configured with Radeon R9 Fury, Nano or 300 Series GPUs. Even though it provides plug-n-play simplicity and an integrated management interface, not all notebooks feature AMD XConnect technology.

Moving forward, this new driver will resolve several AMD Crossfire technology mode-related issues encountered with SteamVR Performance Test, Fallout 4, Hitman, and some DirectX 9 apps, as well as remove unsupported products from the Power efficiency toggle menu.

Moreover, certain AMD Radeon R9 380 users won’t be experiencing slow fan speeds, all games should now be displayed in Radeon Settings gaming tab, and GPU clocks on some products will remain in high states after recovering from a crash only if required.

Despite these new fixes and improvements, the 16.4.2 Hotfix release might still experience issues with AMD Radeon Pro Duo GPUs, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt inventory and character pages, and a few other situations as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

In terms of compatibility, to make use of this update, your system must run one of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 platforms, as well as include a valid GPU model.

That said, download AMD Radeon Crimson Graphics Driver 16.4.2 Hotfix, make sure your configuration is supported, and install the present release to benefit from the fixes and improvements mentioned above.
