AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its Radeon Crimson Graphics driver, namely 16.1 beta, which is targeted at its legacy non-GCN (Graphics Core Next) GPU models running Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 operating systems.

In terms of changes, this driver resolves flickering issues, freeze events, and performance drop spotted in Fallout 4, Star Wars: Battlefront, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Elite: Dangerous, Assassins Creed Syndicate, and Just Cause 3 titles.

Moreover, AMD’s update won’t appear to hang at various stages during installation, removes some error message that appeared for no reason, and fixes the increased power consumption observed during video playback.

If applied, Radeon Additional Settings won’t have problems configuring Portrait Eyefinity mode, users will be able to create 4x1 or 2x1 portrait mode SLS with 4K displays, certain HDMI-related issues will be history, and several other issues will be resolved (check the Release Notes below).

Now, because it’s a beta release, AMD’s present package might still experience certain flickering, corruptions, and errors while playing StarCraft II, Call of Duty Online, Total War: Rome II, and a few other titles.

However, for AMD’s future release(s) to be issue-free, the producer will love feedback and bug reports that users are able to send via its AMD Issue Reporting Form.

That told, download AMD Radeon Crimson Graphics Driver 16.1 Beta Non-GCN, make sure your configuration is supported, apply it, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us as often as possible to find out when a newer version is available.
