The release is a beta driver and should be used “as is”

AMD has announced the availability of its 17.40 Beta Radeon and Radeon Pro Crimson ReLive Edition that provides beta support for Microsoft’s Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (both 32- and 64-bit variants).

Since this update should be considered “as is,” know that there are some issues: certain displays might encounter signal loss briefly (but periodically), Mixed Reality headsets can have problems on Hybrid Graphics configurations, and playing Blu-Ray content can experience an HDCP error code.

In addition to that, with the Radeon Crimson release alone, Radeon WattMan profiles and settings might be lost after resuming from sleep, while the system can reboot or hang when opening DX12 applications on Multi GPU configurations.

However, if you want to apply these packages, first make sure your system is supported, save and run the appropriate driver for it, wait for it to extract all required files for this installation, and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Afterwards, simply follow all the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete, and don’t forget to perform a system reboot so that all changes can take effect properly. If the wizard doesn’t request it automatically, make sure to perform this step manually.

That said, download AMD Radeon/Radeon Pro Crimson ReLive Driver 17.40 Beta for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, apply it, and check our website as often as possible to be up to speed with the latest releases.
