The new driver update maintains Oculus 0.7 SDK support

AMD has rolled out a new version of its Catalyst graphics package, namely driver 15.8 beta, which maintains support for Oculus 0.7 SDK and adds performance, quality, and stability improvements to Warner Bros.’s Batman: Arkham Knight title.

In addition to that, the new update also implements various DirectX 12 performance enhancements that should improve Ashes of the Singularity gaming experience and fix Call Of Duty: Black Ops III texture corruption encountered when launched in DirectX 11 mode.

If version 15.8 beta is applied, games such as Call of Duty - Advanced Warfare, Watch Dogs, Project CARS, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, or Diablo III won’t experience random freezes, crashes, system hangs, flickering, or corruptions anymore.

Moreover, Adobe Lightroom won’t crash when enabling GPU rendering, Firefox browser will be able to open more than 2 tabs without freezing, HDMI Audio will remain enabled after upgrading, and several other changes highlighted in the Release Notes below will be implemented.

When it comes to compatibility, AMD has provided its users with two downloadable packages, one for each 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems.

Bear in mind that, even though it might seem to work, trying to apply this update on other OSes than the aforementioned ones could lead to malfunctions. Also, take into account that the present driver isn’t recommended for AMD configurations running on Apple Boot Camp platforms either.

That being said, download AMD Catalyst Graphics Driver 15.8 Beta, apply it on your system, and enjoy the new changes this release brings about. Also, constantly check our website in order to be aware when a newer version is available for your computer.
