Amazon has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its Fire (5th gen), Fire HD 6 (4th gen), Fire HD 7 (4th gen), Fire HD 8 (5th and 6th gen), Fire HD 10 (5th gen), and Fire HDX 8.9 (4th gen) tablets, namely version 5.7.9, which promises to add general improvements and performance enhancements.

Since the producer doesn’t provide any additional information, the only way to find out what the changes are is to apply this release on your device.

If the unit’s current firmware isn’t either newer or matching this update, save downloadable .bin file on your computer, connect your Fire tablet to it, and transfer the saved package to the root folder of the internal storage (make sure to monitor the progress).

Afterward, remove the USB cable, go to Settings > Device Options > System Updates > Update, and tap “Ok” to initiate the installation. While upgrading, the device will show an “Installing system update” message on its display, and then reboot once completed.

Still, bear in mind that interrupting this process in any way now not only will cause an update failure but might also lead to various device malfunctions.

Therefore, from the links below, follow the one best describing your device model, carefully apply it by taking into account all aspects as mentioned above, and don’t forget to tell us if any exciting changes are made.
