Amazon has rolled out a new firmware developed for its Kindle, Kindle Oasis, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Voyage devices, namely version 5.8.7, which adds the “Amazon Ember Bold” option that can be selected from the font menu within Kindle books.

To be clear about the supported tablets, the producer has made available several downloadable packages targeted at its 8th Generation Kindle and Kindle Oasis models, 7th Generation Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Voyage devices, as well as at the 6th Generation Kindle Paperwhite tablet.

If you consider applying this update, first go to Home > Menu > Settings > Menu > Device Info and check to see if the current firmware isn’t newer or matching this release. If all is ok, save the downloadable .bin file designed for your device model on your computer, and connect your Kindle to it.

Now, transfer the saved package to the root folder of your Kindle’s internal storage, go to Home > Menu > Settings > Menu > Update Your Kindle, and tap “Ok” to initiate the installation. While upgrading, the device will show a “Your Kindle Is Updating” message on its display, and then reboot once completed.

Therefore, from the links below, follow the one best describing your device model, carefully apply it by taking into account all aspects above, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
