Western Digital has outed a new package developed for its My Book Live Personal Cloud Storage, namely the 02.42.03-027 firmware version, which is compatible with all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems.

This new release fixes an issue where the firmware update procedure would stop at 90% of the progress, so if you encountered this problem, you should apply this latest version; otherwise, no further action is needed.

Therefore, if you need to install this firmware, first make sure that the AC power adapter is and remains connected during the upgrade (an unexpected update crash may corrupt the system’s firmware).

Now, login to the device through the dashboard’s user interface, and from the main screen go to Settings → System tab → Updates. Click on the “Update from File” button, browse and select the downloadable firmware file, and click “OK.”

At this point the package is transferred to the device, and afterwards installed – make sure you don’t interrupt the process so that the device doesn’t encounter any problems.

All you need now is to follow the link below, and download the firmware file that is needed in the upgrade process.
