This update resolves various translation and wording issues

Western Digital has just rolled out firmware version 1.05.30 compatible with its My Cloud Mirror, EX2, and EX4 Personal Cloud Storage devices, which updates the End User License Agreement (EULA) and app term of services, and includes various fixes.

If this new release is applied, the suitable NASes will receive several improvements regarding translation and wording issues in multiple languages, and will also be able to mount a volume in degraded mode, even after power loss.

Moreover, version 1.05.30 also fixes a specific screen refresh permission issue encountered when several user accounts were opened at the same time on a single computer.

Besides these aforementioned changes, a problem encountered by My Cloud EX2 and EX4 devices – an encrypted volume with original password couldn’t be mounted after performing raid roaming – has been resolved as well.

When it comes to upgrading your NSA, the installation steps are identical to the ones used to apply WD My Cloud Firmware 1.05.21 or any other previous version.

Therefore, save and extract the archive, go to Dashboard > Settings > Firmware > Update from File, select the .bin file, agree with the dialogs that are displayed, and wait for your network storage to do its job (upon completion, the device will automatically reboot).

With this in mind, download the appropriate software update for your My Cloud model using the links below, carefully upgrade your NAS, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
