The transition doesn’t affect overall system operability

Western Digital has rolled out firmware package 01.00.35.53 that changes the user interface on Sentinel DX4200 Windows Storage Servers (WSS) and switches to the WDStorCentral UI without affecting the overall system operability.

In addition to that, applying this release will also upgrade the WDStorCentral from 1.0.0.62 to version 1.0.0.64, while the remaining components remain unchanged.

In order to install WD’s latest firmware, save and extract the downloadable archive on your desktop, copy all content onto a formatted USB drive, and insert the removable storage into Sentinel’s rear USB 3.0 port.

Now go to Settings > Software Updates, click the “Update from folder“ button, browse to the flash drive directory that contains all component updates, select “OK,” and agree with the next dialog that requests closing your WSS.

During the installation a “WD S/W update Installing…” message will be displayed on the device’s LCD, as well as a status bar on your computer desktop. Simply wait for the process to finish as interrupting it can cause serious device malfunctions.

Upon completion, another restart will be requested, and after performing a reboot loop, DX4200‘s LCD will display SW Update Complete. Bear in mind that only this announces a complete upgrade, so be careful not to interrupt the installation.

Therefore, download WD Sentinel DX4200 WSS Firmware 01.00.35.53, apply it on your windows storage server, and constantly check our website to be aware when a new update is available for your device.
