Thecus has made available firmware version 5.03.02 that is targeted at most of its NAS server devices, and brings a large number of fixes and new features.

The newly released package adds ddrescue in /opt/bin, and raises the FTP list up to 200k files and FTP support up to 300 users. In addition, the firmware includes IE 10 and Windows 8 support, and a new RSYNC partial resume option.

Moreover, it modifies USB wording to uppercase, removes system monitor for AFP that is showing “27.0.0.1,” and updates e2fsprogs and SCST to 1.42.7 and 2.2.1, respectively.

As for fixes, the NFS UI is now properly listed, Japanese wording has no problem, the system monitor doesn’t behave abnormally any more, and the message that was supposed to notify of the installed or removed battery now works fine.

If you consider updating, you should know that during the update process the device mustn’t be turned off, and that a backup of the important files is strongly recommended.

That being said, follow the link below to view all the NASes that are supported by this release, and from there, choose the one that best describes the device you own.
