TP-Link's firmware version 13.02.05 for their TL-WR740N wireless router is now available for download from Softpedia.

This release allows the router to support multicast applications and fixes the issue that did not allow the configuration with Static IP and Default Gateway or Primary DNS set as 0.0.0.0 to be saved.

The update procedure is simple due to the router's menu. You must choose “System Tools,” then “Firmware Update,” browse for the file you have just downloaded and click “Upgrade.”

Updating the firmware may cause your settings to be deleted so write everything down as a backup.

During the installation process, the router must not be turned off or reset. Any possible loss of power during the update might cause serious damage.

After the new firmware has been installed, the device will restart itself.

Windows 8 has not been included in the supported OS list yet, but Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7, Mac or Linux can handle the update just fine.

Below is the link to the new Firmware. Click, download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
