TBS has recently released a new firmware update for its MOI DVB-S2 streaming box. Version 2.0.2 updates MuMuDVB to 1.7.2 in order to support soft cam and adds szap, tzap, czap, dvbdate, dvbnet, dvbscan, dvbsnoop, dvbtraffic, dvbscan, szap-s2, and dst_test software tools.

The update is simple and requires you to download the TBS MOI DVB-S2 streaming box firmware 2.0.2 archive. If you're running version 2.0.1 or 2.0, all you need to do is copy the contents of the archive to your microSD card and then plug it in the device. When you power it on, it will automatically start the update.

For those of you who want to install this release but are running 1.x firmware, copy the “MOI290-fs.bin” file to your formatted microSD card, plug it in the MOI DVB-S2, and power on the device.

Enter uboot and input these command lines: setenv loadmmcfs 'fatload mmc 0:1 40000000 MOI2900_fs.bin' setenv updatekfs 'nand erase 50c0000;nand write.yaffs 40000000 50c0000 ${filesize}' save

Next, type “re” and the unit will start the update. Please be patient while the installation is ongoing. Powering off or interrupting the process may lead to system malfunctions.

Get the latest firmware for your MOI DVB-S2 streaming box, install it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
