The update is compatible only with Windows 8.1 platforms

Microsoft has rolled out the April firmware and drivers pack targeted at its Surface Pro 3 tablet, which updates the Surface Pen Settings driver version to 4.0.112.1 that enables new functionality with the Surface app (available for free in the Windows Store).

In addition to that, the present release also adds a new Surface Type Cover Filter Device version, namely 2.0.1193.0, which includes full support for Japanese Surface Pro Type Covers.

Therefore, if you can make use of these changes or simply want your tablet to be up to date, you can apply this new update by using Microsoft’s Windows Update Service. However, bear in mind that through this method not all users receive the April pack at the same time.

If you don’t have the time to wait for your device to update itself automatically, you can also manually download, extract, and install all the drivers right now using the link below. Sill, don’t forget that this package is only compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 platform.

Last but not least, after applying all packages, it would be a good idea to reboot your tablet manually (if not requested automatically), to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That being said, download Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Tablet Firmware/Driver April 2015, apply it on your device, and check back with us as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
