14 DAY TRIAL // Just now, Sony has announced the availability of new firmware packages targeted at some of its imaging devices, namely version 4.11 compatible with the F5 and F55 4K digital cameras, as well as build 4.1 developed for the producer’s AXS-R5 recorder.
When it comes to the cameras, through their update Sony managed to resolve the Payload ID error on the 4K SDI output stream, and to fix the “Auto Iris” function improper behaviour when using the CA-4000 4K Live System (the Iris would sometimes move when turning “Auto Iris” off).
Bear in mind that, if firmware 4.11 is applied, all files created with this software will not be compatible with earlier versions, and the “Interval Rec” option will be visible on the recording menu page even though this function isn’t supported by the present release.
As for the AXS-R5 recorder, its new update will now write the S-Log3/S-Gamut3.Cine and S-Log3/S-Gamut3 settings into the Metadata XML files, and add support for the AXS-A256S24 256GB memory card (only compatible with the R5 RAW recorder and ASX-CR1 card reader).
You should also know that the present releases are only compatible when used together, therefore make sure to update both the camera to firmware 4.11 and the R5 recorder to firmware 4.1. Moreover, do not initiate the upgrade unless the devices are running firmware 1.2 or earlier.
