This update allows adjusting smoothness of Remote Play video

Along with Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 2.50, the producer has rolled out a new update for its PS Vita and PS TV, namely firmware 3.50, which renames PSNSM to PlayStationNetwork and removes Maps from the PS Vita system software.

In addition to that, features related to Maps that displayed addresses and maps have also been removed, video scene search performance has been improved, and 1080p resolution video playback speed can now be adjusted to 1.5x.

Moreover, changing zooming, inverted colors, adjusting text size and shape, and closed captions settings have been added, while smoothness of Remote Play video can now be adjusted. However, if you set it to “High,” recording gameplay on your console while using this feature won’t be possible.

When it comes to installing this release on your PS Vita, what you have to do is download the .PUP file and save it on a formatted Vita card, power off your console, and insert the card in the appropriate slot.

Afterwards, simply turn the device on and then carefully follow each on-screen instruction, as the console will automatically guide you through the update process.

As for PS TV systems, you can use the same PS Vita card prepared before and the same steps. If this method isn’t desired for whatever reason, you can always create a “PSVITA/UPDATE” path on a USB drive and download the .PUP file there.

Once the USB is prepared, make sure your PS TV is off, press and hold the power button for about 7 seconds (to enter safe mode), connect a controller, go to Update System Software > Update from USB Storage Device, and connect the stick.

With this in mind, download Sony PlayStation Vita / PlayStation TV Firmware 3.50, apply it on your devices, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available.
