Sony has announced on its Twitter account that it’s about to release a new system software update targeted at PlayStation 4 gaming consoles, namely firmware 2.02, which should improve overall software stability during use of some features, games, and applications.

After the major Sony PlayStation 4 System Software 2.00 breakthrough, or should we call it firmware “Masamune,” the producer has reached isn't highly awaited goal: implementing the Share Play feature.

Now, while a significant part of PS4 owners were delighted about this new function, as well as about Themes & Colors, YouTube integration, USB music player, and other features, a small amount of users have been experiencing problems turning on their console.

The issue encountered as a result of upgrading to version 2.00 didn’t allow the PlayStation 4 system to wake up from Rest Mode (in other words, standby), thus another announcement was made and Sony PS4 Firmware 2.01 was released last week.

Now, since Sony desires to improve its devices more and more, update 2.02 is to be released very soon, and as highlighted above, it shall enhance overall software stability – so let’s be prepared.

However, all you can do for the moment is format a USB memory stick and create a “PS4/UPDATE” path on it. For further progress you will need the “PS4UPDATE.PUP” file.
