Just now, Smart Devices has outed a new firmware package targeted at its SmartQ Z Watch Youth device, namely version 1.5, which includes several changes that should improve the unit’s overall performance and usability.

Specifically speaking, this new release adds a new dial feature, optimizes various default settings, adjusts the weather program layout, and includes a new contact delete option.

In addition to that, version 1.5 also fixes various screen display problems regarding the call reminders, removes the system dropdown notification bar, and adds minor workarounds in order to resolve the reply message synchronization feature.

When it comes to installing this release, the steps are quite easy: connect your Z Watch to the computer through the available cable, get the downloadable “update.zip” file, and copy it onto the root folder of the device’s internal storage (do not unpack the zip archive).

After the firmware has transferred, disconnect the unit from the computer, tap “Settings” → “About” → “Firmware Upgrade” from the smartwatch’s menu, and select “Ok” at the next dialog.

At this point, the Z Watch Youth unit will reboot and automatically enter the upgrade mode, so make sure you don’t interrupt the process in any way. Doing so can seriously damage the smartwatch’s software.

Last but not least, after the firmware update has finished and the unit has powered back on, make sure you go to “Settings” → “About” → “Build Number” and check if the version has been successfully installed.

That being said, if you consider upgrading to this build, download Smart Devices SmartQ Z Watch Youth Firmware 1.5, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply the package, and enjoy your newly updated smartwatch.
