The new camera firmware must be applied prior to updating the distortion control data

A few moments after releasing the Nikon D4S Camera Firmware 1.10, the producer has also updated several other digital SLR devices through new firmware versions that add support for Distortion Control Data L:2.000.

Specifically speaking, Nikon has rolled out versions C:1.01 for the D610 camera, C:1.02 targeted at the D600 and D7100 DSLR units, and A:1.00/B:1.01 compatible with the D90 device, as well as the A:1.04/B:1.05 firmware update specifically developed for the D7000 digital imaging product.

Bear in mind that these new software versions must be applied prior to updating the Distortion Control Data to L:2.000, and only if you're using computers powered by Mac OS X platforms or one of Microsoft's Windows Vista, 7, or 8.1 operating systems.

To do so, simply download and execute the proper package for your camera model and OS, copy the .bin file onto a formatted memory card, and insert it into the camera while it’s powered off. Now, go to the Firmware Version in the setup menu and follow the instructions for a complete installation.

When the camera finishes applying the new software, turn off the unit, remove the SD card and power the device back on. Now go to the Firmware Version once more to check if the upgrade has been successful.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your camera model, download the package that suits your computer OS, and update your Nikon device to the latest firmware version.
