Amazon has now provided a new firmware build developed for several of its tablets, namely 4.5.4, which should include general bug fixes, as well as some performance, stability, and usability improvements.

In order to be clear, this new update is targeted at Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD 2nd Generation (11.4.5.4), Kindle Fire HDX (13.4.5.4), Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" (14.4.5.4), Fire HD 7 (20.4.5.4), Fire HD 6 (20.4.5.4), and Fire HDX 8.9 (22.4.5.4) tablet models.

In addition to that, since no additional changelog is available at the moment, if you want to find out what the changes are exactly, you must apply the latest update on your device.

To do so, first of all, go to your tablet’s currently installed firmware version, and make sure software revision powering the device isn’t either newer or matching this present release.

Now, if all is OK, save the appropriate downloadable .bin file specifically designed for your tablet, copy it onto the device’s internal storage, and monitor the transfer to make sure no problems are encountered.

Afterwards, simply go to Menu > Settings > System Updates (path might differ from a model to another), and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

Therefore, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your device model name, apply the new firmware on it, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
