Samsung has added two new additions to their Series 7 notebooks lineup: the Series 7 Chronos and the Series 7 Ultra. These new devices are all about performance and quality.

The 770Z5E (the Series 7 Chronos) is a 15.6” Notebook that weighs only 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lbs) and comes packed with an Intel Core-i7 3635QM processor, AMD Radeon HD 8870M graphics adapter (with 2GB of DDR5) and 4/8 GB of RAM that can be upgraded to a maximum of 16GB.

The storage space is provided by a 1TB HDD, which means you will no longer have to worry about cleaning your drive too often because you’re running out of space.

The media support is handled by 4W stereo speakers branded JBL (James Bullough Lansing) that make use of a virtual woofer. The sound is enhanced by the SoundAlive effect provided by Samsung.

If that’s not enough, add a 720p integrated camera that will show even the smallest details while video-chatting.

The 730U3E (Series 7 Ultra) differs in weight (it tips the scale at only 1.46 kilograms, or 3.21 pounds), video adapter (here, we're talking about an AMD HD8570 with 1GB gDDR3) and speaker power (stereo 2W JBL). Also, the HDD is replaced by a 256GB SSD capable of blazing-fast data access or transfer.

In the looks department, the Japanese manufacturer went for a bare metal finish that excellently suits the devices, and evokes quality and attention to detail.

For the time being, Samsung is yet to announce the price tag or the availability of these new notebooks, but they will most certainly be seen in Las Vegas, starting next week at CES (Consumer Electronics Show).
