The new updates resolve a misaligned pixels issue

SIGMA has just announced the availability of two new firmware packages developed for its dp1 and dp2 Quattro digital cameras, namely version 1.01 and 1.04, respectively, which fix a bug that caused the devices to occasionally save images with partially misaligned pixels.

An important aspect that the producer highlights is that, once you upgrade to these versions, it won’t be possible to make use of RAW files in older releases of SIGMA Photo Pro. Thus, make sure to apply the latest SIGMA Photo Pro Software (currently build 6.1.0).

In addition to that, along with these two new firmware packages, SIGMA has also rolled out an update targeted at its 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports CANON, which can only be applied using the SIGMA Optimization Pro 1.2.0 version.

To be clear about this lens release, if applied, it improves overall accuracy and performance when using AF frames in peripheral areas of the viewfinder.

When it comes to updating your camera unit, first of all format a memory card using the body, save the downloadable .bin file onto the root directory, and insert it into the SIGMA camera while it’s turned off.

Now, power on the device, go to Menu > Setup > Firmware Update, select “Yes” at the “Start firmware update?” message, allow the camera to perform the installation, and remove the SD card upon completion.

That being said, download SIGMA dp2 Quattro Camera Firmware 1.04 or download SIGMA dp1 Quattro Camera Firmware 1.01, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and apply the latest update on your device.
