These new versions allow setting image aspect ratio to 7:6

Today, SIGMA has announced the availability of two new firmware updates targeted at its dp1 and dp2 Quattro digital cameras, namely versions 1.02 and 1.05, respectively, which include several new useful features.

Specifically speaking, these new versions add the ability to record Photographer and Owner of Copyright details in Exif information, as well as show them on Display, and allow setting image aspect ratio to 7:6.

In addition to that, the compatible cameras are now able to select Black or Semi-transparent when shooting with aspect ratio other than 3:2, and receive a new “S-LO” setting that can change the number of recorded pixels for JPEG shooting.

Last but not least, both releases include a function that can adjust minimum shooting interval from 4 to 8 seconds (when using interval timer). However, this setting changes depending on image size and quality combinations.

Besides the aforementioned additions, SIGMA’s dp1 Quattro also gets its Focusing Range of Portrait (0.33m ~ ∞) and Landscape / Snap shooting (0.5m ~ ∞) reconfigured in AF Limit mode.

Therefore, if you want to make use of these improvements, first check your camera’s currently installed firmware by going to Menu > Setup > Information, and make sure it isn’t newer or matching the present release.

If all is ok, save the appropriate .bin file for your camera model, transfer it onto a formatted SD card (initialized using the camera), and insert it into your imaging device. Now, go to Menu > Setup > Firmware Update > Start Firmware Update > Yes, and wait for the process to complete.

With this in mind, download SIGMA dp1 Quattro Firmware 1.02 or download SIGMA dp2 Quattro Firmware 1.05, carefully apply it on your unit, and enjoy all the changes the new releases bring about.
