The present release resolves two transmission-related issues

Just now, Ricoh has made available firmware 1.38 compatible with its G700SE digital camera, which fixes two image-sending problems encountered with the previous Ricoh G700SE Camera Firmware 1.34 release.

Specifically speaking, version 1.38 resolves an occasional issue where photos wouldn’t be sent and remained on the camera when “Communication” and “Quick Send” modes were set to “W-LAN” and “Auto,” respectively.

In addition to that, after sending a series of images and playback mode memos, the EX1 software would either not work or improperly rename some files. This problem will also be fixed once upgraded.

When it comes to installing this version, first check your camera’s current firmware build, and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching the present update. To do so, just press and hold “Down” arrow and “Playback” buttons while your G700SE is turned off.

If all is OK, save and extract the available package, copy its content onto an initialized SD card (must be performed by camera body), power off your imaging unit, and insert the newly-prepared memory card.

Now, press and hold both “Up” arrow and “Playback” buttons for a few seconds, and select “Yes” at the next dialog to allow your unit to perform the upgrade.

Once updated, the G700SE will automatically reboot, at which point you should turn it off, remove the SD card, and check the currently installed firmware once more to ensure the process has been successful.

That being told, download Ricoh G700SE Camera Firmware 1.38, carefully apply it, and enjoy the changes that this new release brings about. Also, check back with us as often as possible to be the first to find out when a newer version is available.
