The newly released update resolves an issue that caused a preview error on 720p resolution

Just now, Realtek has announced the availability of a new driver developed for its PC camera chips, namely beta version 6.2.9200.10253, which is compatible with the RTS5803, RTS5821, and RTS5822 components.

This newly released package can be installed on systems running under both 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 operating system, as well as on the company’s latest platform, Windows 8.1.

If installed, Realtek’s fresh update changes the device name for a few 2MP and 5MP cameras, fixes an issue where the 720p resolution would encounter a preview error, resolves the AWB value problem for VGA project, and adds some customized settings as well.

However, you should take into account that the release is still a beta version, therefore Realtek cannot be held responsible for any damage related to this update, and you apply this version at your own risk.

In order to do that, just get and expand the downloadable archive, open the newly created folder, and run the “setup.exe” file. Follow the on-screen instructions, make sure you restart the system when needed (so that the changes take effect), and that’s quite all.

That being said, go ahead and download Realtek PC Camera Driver 6.2.9200.10253, read carefully the above-mentioned aspects, apply it, and enjoy your newly updated system.
