Popcorn Hour A-400 firmware 05-01-130316-25-POP-422-999 has been released. This is a test update and a “stepstone” firmware. In other words, if you flash it to your device, you will not be able to downgrade because there are major changes in the microcode.

We begin with the known issues that didn't get to be fixed with this firmware. Here we include the missing splashscreen on bootup, King Kong sample played with DD+ Video not running smoothly and the Adaptive Deinterlacing & Film Cadence Detection causing issues with framerate sync and MotionBars when enabled.

Looking on the bright side of this update, video streaming performance has been improved, as well as transition with seamless branched Blu-Ray disks and zoom/panning speed.

Some Blu-Ray disk hang issues, the crash at the end of music playlist playback for certain mp3 files, audio out of sync after seek, subtitle out of sync after seek, or resume from bookmark issues have been fixed.

This release comes with the NMT apps package version 05-01-130315-25-POP-422, which has been updated to work with the new firmware.

This release is not an official one. Crashes or malfunctions of your system are not Softpedia's responsibility. In order to stay safe and not risk bricking your device, wait for an official iteration.
