Point of View’s ONYX 527 Navi Tablet (TAB-P527) shakes hands with a new firmware version 20130130. Although there are no release notes, updating to this version may increase overall performance and functionality of the device.

So, if you accurately follow the update steps, there is nothing to lose.

First, backup the important data, make sure the battery is fully charged, and disable the antivirus program so that it would not interfere with the update process. If checked, connect the Tablet with the PC through a USB cable and power off the device.

To bring the Android tablet into the boot mode, press and hold the “V-” (Volume down) and “Reset” buttons until you hear a typical windows new device sound (make sure you hear it). Go quickly to the “Drivers” folder of the downloadable file and open “AutoInstallDriver.bat” file and let the OS do its job.

Also, in the downloadable file there is a “Flash_tool.exe” that you must open, which is located in the “Flashtool” folder. Press the “scatter-loading” button and select the “scatter.txt” file that is found in the “Firmware” folder – afterwards press the “Firmware Upgrade” button and that’s that.

When the process is complete, you will see a green circle, point at which you must press reset button once, and power up the Tablet – leave the USB cable connected until startup is complete to ensure that the first boot (that will take longer than usual) is not disrupted.

Now follow the link below and download the latest firmware for your device.
