The present firmware update fixes some Loop-related problems

Pioneer has rolled out its 1.11 firmware version targeted at the XDJ-R1 DJ System, which fixes problems with m4a files that sometimes wouldn’t be played, as well as some Loop-related issues.

To be clearer, setting a Loop at the start of a certain WAV file format wouldn’t always be played, and tracks with long-loop sets in rekordbox won’t work out as they should every time. These improper behaviors have been resolved.

As for enjoying these changes, first press the “Info (Utility)” button on your unit, scroll to the currently installed firmware, and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching this release. If it’s not, save and extract the archive, and copy file “xdj_0111.bin” onto a formatted USB device.

Now, make sure you DJ system is completely powered off, remove any device or cable connected to it (leave the power adapter), and turn it on while holding the left-deck “Shift” and “USB” buttons.

Afterwards, simply connect the newly-prepared USB stick and your device will automatically initiate the upgrade. This process takes about 6 minutes to complete, so make sure you don’t remove the stick or reboot the device until a proper message is displayed.

Once finished, turn off your XDJ-R1, disconnect the USB memory drive, power it back on, and check the currently installed firmware again to ensure a successful and complete upgrade.

That being said, download Pioneer XDJ-R1 DJ System Firmware 1.11, carefully follow all aforementioned steps, and improve your device. Also, constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available.
