Pioneer has released a new firmware package for its DDJ-SX dj controller, namely the 1.07 version, that is compatible with both bit versions of Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 OSes.

The newly released package optimizes the jog platter’s sensitivity when the touch sensor’s level is set close to maximum, and may also improve the device’s overall performance.

As for installing the 1.07 version, within the downloadable archive, you will find a “DDJ-SX_V107.jar” file.

The update process requires Java Runtime Environment to be installed on the computer and all applications to be closed before starting the upgrade.

Now, connect the computer to the DDJ-SX via a USB cable, and turn on the controller while holding the “Shift” and “Sync” buttons located on the left deck. Furthermore, ensure that the LED level meter flashes before releasing the buttons.

Afterwards, run the downloaded jar file, and at the next dialog you will be prompted with the current version of the device and the one that you are about to install – if they are different, select “Start.”

Bear in mind that while the update is in progress, the controller mustn't be turned off or disconnected from the computer – just wait patiently for it to finish (2 minutes as Pioneer claims).

Therefore, if you consider updating to the 1.07 version, follow the link below and download the file needed in the process.
