Just now, Pioneer has announced the availability of two new firmware packages targeted at its 900NXS and 2000NXS CDJs controllers, namely version 1.21 and 1.23, respectively, which include a few useful changes.

First of all, the 1.23 update compatible with CDJ-2000NXS (CDJ-2000 Nexus) devices resolves an issue spotted on 2TB HDDs where certain folders wouldn’t display the contained files when browsing.

In addition to that, this release also fixes a WAVE file format compatibility bug, which caused the deck to continuously display a “Loading ...” message if the track’s header was incompatible.

When it comes to the CDJ-900NXS unit, its firmware package also removes the display bug encountered with 2TB HDDs, and fixes an issue where users would browse heavily through the tracklist when using Serato DJ in HID mode.

Moreover, the 1.21 update resolves the player’s improper behavior where track selection using alphabetical search wouldn’t be available. Also, “Waiting Circle” won’t be displayed continuously anymore.

As for installing these new versions, first initialize a USB stick (FAT or FAT32 formats required), download and extract the available archives, and copy the .UPD file onto the removable memory drive.

Now, turn off your CDJ, terminate any connections with external devices, and power your unit on while holding “USB” and “RELOOP/EXIT” buttons until a “Connect USB storage device to USB port” message is displayed.

At this point, simply insert the newly-prepared USB stick, and since the upgrade is initiated automatically, make sure you don’t interrupt this process in order to avoid any unwanted problems.

With this in mind, download Pioneer CDJ-900NXS Firmware 1.21 or download Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS Firmware 1.23, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
