Just now, Peplink has rolled out firmware 6.2 developed for all its Balance, Pepwave Surf, and Pepwave MAX router models, which resolves the CVE-2014-3566 POODLE vulnerability, and includes several other fixes and improvements.

This new update allows all compatible devices to intercept traffic from a desired port and forward it to a local server, use L2TP as a WAN connection method, and apply QoS bandwidth limits for individual clients.

In addition to that, with firmware 6.2 CLI SSH admin access can now be restricted by source IP address, outbound firewall rules can match source MAC address, and PepVPN Test and Analyzer gets relocated under Status > PepVPN (for SpeedFusion-compatible devices).

Since I mentioned PepVPN, this feature is now more compatible with small MTU environments, gets OSPF support improved, its bandwidth limits can be configured for both uplink and downlink, and receives several other changes.

Moreover, Peplink’s update modifies active sessions of LAN VLAN hosts to be displayed in Status > Active Session page, and includes numerous other improvements that you can view by pressing the “Release Notes” button.

When it comes to applying firmware 6.2, save the appropriate downloadable .bin file specifically designed for your router model, log into its web user interface, and initiate the installation from the Firmware Upgrade section.

That being told, from the links below, follow the one that best suits your router series, click on the link that highlights your router model (and HW revision), carefully apply it, and enjoy the new changes that the present release brings about.
