Today, Pebble has made available two new firmware updates targeted at its smartwatch models, namely version 2.8.1, as well as release 2.9 beta 3, which can be applied quite easy using your mobile phone.

In terms of changes, the stable 2.8.1 update includes various bug fixes and stability improvements but doesn’t implement any major changes compared to Pebble Firmware 2.8.

On the other side, firmware 2.9 beta 3 doesn’t benefit from any changelog whatsoever and should be used only by developers, as this kind of packages may include miscellaneous bugs and issues, as well as new features that are in developing stages.

When it comes to installing either the stable or the beta release, you should know that Pebble has provided 3 different files: one for watches with Serial Numbers (SN) starting with Q, one for devices with SNs starting with a numeral, and the last file for Pebble Steel devices.

Now, depending on your phone’s OS, install either Pebble iOS App 2.6 or Pebble Android App 2.2.1 (both receiving some new features and fixes), and save the package appropriate for your watch model on your smartphone.

At this point, simply open the downloaded .pbz file using the newly-installed application, follow the on-screen instructions for a complete and successful upgrade, and enjoy your freshly-improved Pebble smartwatch device.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your desired firmware version, as well as your device model and SN, and carefully apply the update by following the above-described steps.
