Today, Panasonic has just made available a new firmware developed for its Lumix GX7 (DMC-GX7) digital camera, namely version 1.1, which promises to improve the camera’s overall stability when operating the device.

The release consists of 2 download records containing a zip and an exe file compatible with the MAC and Windows operating systems, respectively. However, the archive package can also be uncompressed under the Windows platform.

As for installing the new version, first make sure the battery is fully charged, copy the firmware file (.bin) located within the downloadable packages onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera’s slot, and power on the device.

Now, press the “Play” button and, at the next dialog, select the “Yes” button to agree with the upgrade process. At this point the installation starts, and all you need to do now is wait for the process to complete.

After firmware 1.1 is applied and the Lumix camera automatically shuts down, remove the memory card from the device and power the GX7 back on. You can also check the system version to ensure the upgrade is successful.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your computer’s OS, download the package, and update the GX7’s firmware version.
