O.I.S. is improved when using Panasonic’s LUMIX GH3 and GH4

Panasonic has rolled out firmware 1.2 developed for its LUMIX G X VARIO 35-100mm / F2.8 ASPH. lens (model H-HS35100), which manages to improve the device’s Optical Image Stabilizer feature, also known as O.I.S.

However, bear in mind that this is only a stability enhancement and it applies when in Motion Picture recording while using a Panasonic LUMIX GH3 or GH4 digital camera.

Still, if you want to upgrade your lens to this release, save and unzip the downloadable archive, initialize an SD card using preferably a DMC-GH3 or -GH4 camera, and transfer firmware file “ES101712.lin” onto the empty memory card.

Now, make sure your camera is powered by a fully charged battery, turn the unit off and attach its H-HS35100 lens, and power it back while pressing the “Play” button to enter update mode.

After searching the SD card for a new firmware, you should be prompted with a “Start Version UP?” message: just select “Yes,” and allow the camera to do its job. However, if not displayed, this could mean that either your lens is already upgraded, or the memory card hasn’t been properly prepared.

Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t turn off/reboot your camera, make use of any of its buttons, remove the SD card or battery, or detach the lens. Doing so will cause an upgrade failure which might also lead to unwanted device malfunctions.

That being said, download Panasonic H-HS35100 Lens Firmware 1.2, carefully apply it on your lens, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
