AMD has made available its latest Catalyst graphics driver, namely version 14.6 beta 1.0, which provides significant performance improvements for several games, especially for the Watch Dogs and Murdered: Soul Suspect (to be released) titles.

This newly released update has been developed for desktop and notebook configurations and is compatible with both bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8.1 OSes. Bear in mind that AMD has dropped support for Windows 8, so don’t try to install the driver on this operating system.

As for the changes, this Catalyst version includes greater flexibility for multi-monitor configurations through the new AMD Eyefinity 3.0 Technology that supports multiple monitors with a different resolution, and allows users to choose between Fill, Fit, and Expand options.

When it comes to in-game improvements, version 14.6 beta 1.0 raises performance for Watch Dogs by up to 28% (92% in CrossFire configurations), and Battlefield 4, Thieft, and Star Swarm by up to 21, 14, and 274%, respectively.

In addition to that, Murdered: Soul Suspect, which is to be released, also benefits from improved performance as in 16% on a Radeon R9 290X card, or up to 93% in CrossFire systems.

Moreover, AMD simplifies the Eyefinity setup and the display arrangements, enhances color management, and allows users to make use of the HDMI Deep Color feature. Also, Mantle API support has been added for AMD Enduro-based notebooks.

That being said, download AMD Catalyst Graphics Driver 14.6 Beta 1.0, apply it on your system, and enjoy the benefits of this newly-released update.
